Lord of the Flies #8

Lord of the Flies

Chapter 8: Gift for the Darkness
What happens on the beach
Perspective: Simon

Okay so we are all on the beach and Jack calls an assembly. Ugh, doesn't he have anything better to do besides call assemblies and yell at people he also needs to stop making taboos, because it's annoying and no one can keep up with it! Jack and Ralph just never stop arguing and now Jack is trying to split us all up into 2 groups. We were all looking demure as we were standing in circles. I don't know why he is so jealous of Ralph. Jack is only a hunter and Ralph is only a chief. Jack thinks he is a prefect because he said whoever wants to go with him, to hunt for a pig could go because Ralph doesn't know anything. He always puts Ralph down, yet Ralph still sticks up for what he believes in. I thought that we should go up the mountains, but Piggy thought that it wouldn't be safe because of the beast and the boar. I don't think anybody takes what I say seriously so I have my own place in the forests and it's all quiet and it has flowers and butterflies. I go there when I need to sit down and think. I can't believe that the hunters went with Jack to the forest and they saw a pig, so they stabbed it to death and I was hiding behind a tree just watching everything, but the demoniac images of them killing her and stabbing her a lot was really scaring me. After all the blood was dripping, I noticed that there were flies around the pig because of the blood. Ralph and Piggy were still at the beach with the littleluns and Piggy was trying to figure out a way to get a fire going just in case people see the signal.. The littleluns weren't really helping Piggy and Ralph because they are just kids and they were running around playing with each other. But Ralph told Piggy that we were all going to die out here because no one has come to help us, and were all separated into 2 groups. As Piggy paunched he was trying to cheer Ralph up, by telling Sam n' Eric to go get fruits, so that we can have a feast and we will all sing and dance. I noticed that Piggy is becoming more involved as we try to get help, because he is thinking of all these vivid ideas that nobody else thought of doing. Ever since Jack wasn't telling Piggy want to do and taking his glasses and bullying him around, Piggy has been being very intellectual. I wonder why Jack and the hunters would invite us to eat with them if they left us and didn't want to be a part of us anymore..
