Chapter 6: Beast from Air
The "Beast" Hunt
Perspective: Ralph

It was night and we were all sleeping untill Sam and Eric came and woke me up because they told me they saw a beast on top of the mountain. They described the "beast" saying that they had claws, teeth, and eyes, but I thought they were just making up stories because they were scared of it. The twins were also scared because they didn't know if it was alive or dead. I also thought they were a little waxy because what would a beast be doing on top of the mountain. But to me it looked like a dead person on top of the mountain with a parachute but I couldn't see because of the darkness. I noticed that Eric had marks all over his face, because he was running from the beasts and he thought it was behind him so he just ran through bushes and crashed into things that make scrathes on his face and it was bleeding. As the others woke up, I grabbed the conch and raised it up in the air so that everybody could come to the meeting. Jack thinks that we should be heard and everybody should make suggestions, and we should also decide all together. Nobody thinks that the conch is important because they just speak whenever they feel like it, and it's like powerless now. This is like an interminable journey because we can't get rescued and now we have two littleluns that are scared of beasts so now we have to go see if it's real or if it's something else. Simon pictured the "beastie" as a heroic and sick man. I saw the fire flailing from one side to the other, on the mountain but the whole group and I still couldn't see who it was. Jack thought that Piggy should stay there with the littleluns because they would be scared and Piggy would be too. As we were walking towards the mountain, I wanted to explain what the rules were and what had to be done but Jack tried to act like he knows everything. Now, we are all embroiled that the two twins brought us into. We all felt diffident, because what if there was a beast and everybody was scared and ran moutinously. Now Jack walks us across the ledge...
