Lord of the Flies #5

Lord of the Flies

Chapter 5: Beast from Water
The Discursive Meeting
Perspective: Piggy

While we were having the assembly Ralph was being so rude just because he had the conch and made up all these rules like you have to use the bathroom on the rocks and you have to eat and put the fire on the mountains... all these rules are too many to follow and he always says stuff to make us mad. But the good thing was that he started to understand how to be a chief by thinking about what he is going to say for the meeting. Unlike Jack who was just being ludicrous by trying to tell us what to do when he is only a hunter and nothing else. Jack also jeers me by calling me fatty and always picks on me and I don't like that. But when I started to talk about the beasts and some other suggestions, it seemed to me that only Simon really cared about how I felt and what I had to say once I had the conch. While some of the other little kids and I taking turns using the conch and talking about the beast's, Jack and Ralph thought the littleluns were cry babies because they had nightmares about the creepers and the beasts and were tempestuously scared of the dark. So Ralph actually stood up for me when Jack kept trying to interrupt me. But Ralph understood that it was time to get down to business but he still wasnt the nice guy around. Simon, the littleluns and I actually had decorum throughout the meeting. Sometimes I lamentate because I wish I could just fly home. Simon is like the only person who doesn't make fun of me and cares about my feelings. I hate it when Jack and Ralph think they are all tough and aren't scared of anything!
