I was so bored at my house during the summer because there isn’t really anything to do. Plus I was mad because my step father said we would build a boat and go fishing but it turns out he only said that so I couldn’t go visit Scout the love of my life and my good friend Jem. I am so used to going to Maycomb every summer and hanging out with Jem and Scout but this time I had to stay in Meridian. I wasn’t going to let it go down like that this summer so I had to find out a way to go to Maycomb.
So I figured out a good sneaky idea. I stole thirteen dollars from my mom’s purse and caught the nine o’ clock train and got off at the Maycomb Junction. The whole trip was a fourteen mile walk. I jumped on the backboard of a cotton wagon and clung to the remainder of that way about ten miles off the highway. I was starving because I didn’t eat for a day and I was hiding under Scout’s bed as I quietly went into her room. I stunk, I was very tired, and HUGRY! So they brought me some milk and cornbread. Then Jem was telling me how I should tell my mom that I was safe at the Finch’s house but I didn’t want to because I loved staying here at the Finch’s. When Jem called Atticus into the room I was afraid that he might tell my mother or Aunt Rachel that I was there. But I begged Mr. Finch to not make me go back there because I told him I would run away and because he is a open-minded caring guy he said he wasn’t going to do that. All Mr. Finch was going to do is ask my mother and my aunt if I could stay with Jem and Scout overnight. Mr. Finch wanted me to take a bath, eat and go to bed.
Jem got a lot taller and all he did was read his football magazines and didn’t pay as much attention to Aunt Alexandra and Atticus and Scout. He was more into his magazines than playing outside with me and Scout. I was really happy to be at Mr. Finch’s house because my future wife was there. I just loved talking to Scout. She always would shine and laugh but at times she is quiet. Sometimes she would talk to me about running away like she is my mom but we talked it out rationally. One night Jem and Scout woke me up and ten o’ clock at night. I was sleeping and I don’t like to be woken up that late. It was a fanatical night because Jem, Scout and I snuck out and walked around in the town and we saw Atticus just sitting down in front of the jail. I saw a lot of men around Atticus and they looked like they were all yelling or something. They were trying to start something. Scout was telling me everything that was going on because I was tired and Scout went running towards Mr. Finch and Jem was behind them so I just followed. Jem and I were sent home because we were misbehaving and Scout was just talking to Mr. Cunningham. Scout and I were just trying to talk to Mr. Finch and calm him down because apparently people were messing with Tom Robinson but they left so everything was good.

I think that you described Dill's and everyone around him very well. The things you wrote are things that i think he would really say. I really liked it.
I like your journal entry of your perspective of Dill. I really liked how you described Scout. You did a really good job.
